When she died, Carl was left with his memories and the awareness that they never made their dream journey to Paradise Falls in South America. When well-meaning officials consign Carl to Shady Oaks Retirement Home, he rigs thousands of helium balloons to his house and floats away. He discovers that Russell, a chubby Wilderness Explorer Scout has stowed away. In the tropical jungle, Carl and Russell find more than they bargained for. Charles Muntz is a crazed explorer whose newsreels once inspired Carl and Ellie; Kevin is an exotic bird with a weakness for chocolate; and Dug who is an endearingly golden retriever fitted with a voice box. More importantly, Carl and Russell discover they need each other.

Carl Fredricksen: You'd better get up, Russell. Or else, the tigers will come and eat you. Russell: Tigers don't live in South America. Zoology.
Russel: "May I be of any assistance to you today sir?" "Don't be afraid little snipe, I am a Wilderness Explorer! Caw Caw, Rawr!"
Gus: "i was hiding under the porch because i love you" (insert cute sad face here)

This is one of my favorite movies of all time. It's sweet, funny, sad and thought provoking all at the same time. I love it!!
a really good animated flick:)i thought it was awesome...i really like ellie at the beggining of the movie...she was aawww-dorable
It's easy to see through Carl's gruff old-man attitude from the start, he wears his heart right there on his sleeve the entire movie. Throw in an enthusiastic little boy, an akward friendship with an oversized bird, and eager pooch then tie it together with a villian. Overall it was super cute, and I love the determination of each and every character.
A Pixar masterpiece. Hilarious. Heartfelt. An UP-lifting story. I loved it. FIVE STARS.
