Add a CommentWhat an awesome book! It reads a bit like a thriller. And don't try to read it at bedtime. Harper's exploits will make your blood boil so much that you won't be able to sleep after reading it. I never liked Stephen Harper & I've always been a bit wary of him but, after reading this book, I see what a danger he is to Canada - and the rest of the world. There is a lot of important information in this book that all Canadians should know about concerning Harper & his new brand of extreme right wing conservatism.
While Martin is pretty clearly not a fan of Harper, he gives the man credit for what he has accomplished while building a disturbing picture of our current Prime Minister.
I couldn't put this book down! It's a very disturbing piece of non fiction and should raise all sorts of alarm bells about Stephen Harper (and his cohorts) who behave as autocratic dictators. I'm really appalled at the lack of public interest in how Harper, has almost single handedly, demolished many of the pillars of our Canadian parliamentary democracy. Thanks Lawrence for a great book!
Finalist for the Shaughnessy Cohen Prize for Political Writing
Great read, secretive and controlling character of Harper is thoroughly exposed, however Martin is clearly not a Harper fan either.
