The book On the Banks of Plum Creek by Laura Ingalls Wilder is the fourth book in the Little House series. In this book Laura and Mary go to school for the first time and make friends they're like little children from town and meet Nelly Oleson, a spoiled town girl who does not like "country girls". There are parties, clouds of grasshoppers, and blizzards! It's my favorite book in the series and I love reading about all the troubles Laura's family had to overcome living on The Banks of Plum Creek. @Redibis of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library
Life is about to get interesting for Mary and Laura. School and Church with Nellie Oleson, a brand new house of machine sawn boards, not logs, and wrong decisions by Laura and Pa. Will they all survive?
I love these stories! Truly a timeless classic. A great read for the younger audience :)
this was my fav of the little house books I do not know why it just is! please read these books!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nothing goes right for the Ingalls at their new settlement in Minnesota. Their crops fail, they end up in debt because even though they don’t want to be beholden to anyone for the cost of a slate pencil they for some reason buy the materials to build a new house on credit, and the girls can’t go to school – their whole reason for returning to the East – because they can’t afford shoes. Still, with hard work and routine and observing the Sabbath, life goes on happily for several years beside Plum Creek.
