Wow. I've never seen so many comments for a metal album on this library system. Impressive. And I can understand why. This is a strong album. I'm gonna take flak here but I hear a little Nickelback here at times and that ain't bad.
wow.... When i did not know about this band I was lost, but now I am found...
I love these guys and would advise anyone else to listen to them...
black veil bries is one of the best band i love Perfect Weapon and Knifes and Pens.awesome song its a really good band go BVB
GO BVB!!!! WELCOME CHRISTIAN COMA!!!! YOU ARE AN AMAZING DRUMMER! this album is great. log on to your account. search Set The World On Fire. put it on hold. listen to it. love it. buy it at the store. love it some more. become apart of the Black Veil Brides army. listen to the album again. love it. life complete.
Black Veil Brides apparently made it big in a few short years on their own effort and even initially funded their own music videos. Part of me wants to dislike this band; they have the appearance of a corporately manufactured band like Jonas Brothers, The Monkeys, or any number of boy bands one can think of. Even though they strike me as highly formulaic and calculated, there really is no evidence to suggest they aren't a sincere rock band. Having said all that, I have to begrudgingly admit that this album is good. BVB are competent musicians, the production is top notch, and the album gels together nicely as it has a consistency to it. Recommended for fans of hard rock, but a hesitant recommendation for serious metal fans.
I was excited when I found out they had this album but a bit disappointed when I discorvered they didn't have We Stitch These Wound. I love the songs on this album and the message being sent through them. I highly recommend this album. It is amazing. Despite my favourite songs being 'Sweet Blasphemy' and 'Perfect Weapon' from WSTW this is my favourite album. I love the music videos for this album. BVB army forever!!!!!!!
luv the message and how they have all the cds here in our very own towns kind of weird
Yeah, just what I've been waiting for. I loved "Knives and Pens" and "Perfect Weapon" and the tracks on this sounded just as killer, until I heard them in the context of the album as a whole. "New Religion" starts right off the bat with a powerful, albiet generic, metalcore riff a la Avenged Sevenfold, but then, WOAH OH OH!, BVB go all Bon Jovi on us. Sure, BVB have never been the most original but seriously, a metalcore Bon Jovi hybrid with bits of 70's glam rock, thats got to be the 3 most generic genres in rock music. "Set the World On Fire" is slightly more fresh sounding but still has Woah Oh!'s and gang vocals aplenty. The album carries on this way for the remaining 37 minutes with some song more A7X and others more Glam rock. "God Bless You" deviates from this formula slightly but sounds scarily like Nickelback's "Something In Your Mouth". I was loving "Savior" right up until the very end when the electric guitars came in and Andy started screaming. His dry, raspy scream sounded out of place on this mostly acoustic rock ballad and ruined the song for me considering that is the most screaming he does on any song. Despite all this Set the World On Fire is a catchy album but best enjoyed subconciously whilst doing something else rather than focusing on it fully.
I love this CD! Black Veil Brides never cease to amaze me. Die hard fan over here. :) Guess I'm a fallen angel.
Didn't think Black Veil Brides could get any better until I heard this album. So good
