Although less than 200 pages, this book (as most of Graham Greene's) carries a powerful punch. One cannot help but feel sympathy for a hopeless evil-doer.

A "page turner" thriller that takes Europe to the brink of war.

This is a very early Graham Greene novel that is entertaining and well written. Although light in tone, compared to his more serious novels, this is a very good read.
