A most enjoyable and easy to read book. Agatha's travels with her famous archaeologist husband to Syria and Iraq in the 1930s gives you an interesting insight into the countryside and the culture at that time. Travelling in those countries then wasn't easy for Europeans and the entourage. She paints a wonderful verbal picture of daily life there, the problems to be solved and the funny side of life. She includes many photographs of life in those times and the digs they undertook. A good read!
