An interesting version of the fairy tale containing the familiar characters with a dark twist. I thought it illustrated well how a person becomes "trapped" inside one's own mind and allows years to pass them by while they think, think, think...

Just thought I would add to squeegirl's list by putting the authors and a few additional titles that I am aware of

Other books in the Fairy Tale series: "The Sun, The Moon, and the Stars" by Stephen Brust (?), "Jack the Giant-Killer" by Charles de Lint, "The Nightingale" by Kara Dalkey, "Snow White and Rose Red" By Patricia C. Wrede, "Tam Lin" by Pamela Dean , "Briar Rose" by Jane Yolen. “White as Snow” by Tanith Lee, “The Fitcher’s Bride” by Gregory Frost.
