Barbara Streisand and Robert Redford strike me as an odd pairing but this story works. Two different personalities who come together and help one another. But, they have some pretty big issues that threaten to divide them. Streisand's character is too much at times and Redford's character is so subdued that this opposite's attract credo is all over it. It's a very sad story but also uplifting in some ways. The ending is sad but also shocking. Three weeks later and this one has stayed with me.

Although very much in love their different views on certain issues created tension. A great romantic story. Barbara Streisand was nominated for "Best Actress" and the beautiful song "Memories" was also nominated for "Best Score" in this 1973 movie. Loved it. (warning: a tear jerker)
