I thoroughly enjoyed this documentary. Educational and well put together, I learned much about WWII. It's 6 hours, but broken up into one hour sections. Well worth watching.

This is an excellent WWII documentary series.

Unfortunately it is the only copy available at the library. The 3 disc set was in bad shape, scratches on all the DVD'S.

I had the all the disc professionally cleaned.
Please take care of them.
Let's preserve this documentary for everyone especially the younger generations.

Great color footage makes this a good WWII documentary. It's Revisionist (French?) slant on the history of WWII is not in line with the viewpoint I endorse, but it didn't stop me from enjoying this.

Best overview of WW2 ,.. in Europe.

A bit thin about the Pacific, Burma, China, etc. 'theaters'.
Made by the French.,.. who edit 600 hours of footage down to a brilliantly narrated and enlivened colorized six hours !!

They have created a remarkable document !!

This DVD set is the most comprehensive and informative document I have ever seen or read. Being born during WWII has made me very interested in the history of the time. The maps depicting which countries were occupied and the dynamic changes during the war years gave me new perspective about that period of time. The politics and alliances explained in this set helped to better understand the war. My only criticism was not giving equal time to the war in the Pacific.

Excellent, compelling and amazingly covered documentary. The best I have seen, an entire and rivoting history lesson all on DVD. A must see!

A good 6 hour summary of WWII. The majority of the action takes place in Europe and Africa. The action that takes place between Japan and China is largely omitted. The producers seemed to have believed that fake colorizing was a necessity to increase the number of people that would want to view it. The cuts to interactive maps help the viewer understand the battles and strategies that follow.

Very selective, and sometimes imaginative, history. Colorized , and some of the film footage is reversed (miror image, look at the store signs). Certainly very graphic.
