This movie is slow and boring for the most part. You have a cantankerous old woman and a cast of wooden characters. I only gave it 2 stars because I love the scenery and the colours of fall.

A movie about living life to its fullest. Shirley breaks free from her retirement community for one last adventure hiking the Redwood Highway solo. On her journey she makes some new friends, has a couple of scares, and encounters ghosts from the past that help her confront the present and accept the future.

A wonderful movie about a woman, Shirley Knight, is in a retirement community and decides she is not happy and strikes on her own, walking and camping to her granddaughters wedding. Few movies about older women and how they can control their own destiny. Shirley is powerful and she somehow makes you believe this is possible. Great characters along the way.

Excellent--enjoyable at any level. Shirley Knight did an exceptional performance as a "retired" woman living on her own but having family conflicts and decides to make a journey on foot in an attempt to deal with the past.

Really, a pathetic waste of the viewers' time; attempted depth and insight but fell flat. Showed lack in: writing, directing, acting and photography. The worse movie that I've seen in a year. Such a disappointment to feel one has wasted an 1 1/2 of their lives when this happens, rarely, to this extent.

I didn't care for this movie. I felt like this film was the first attempt by an inexperienced producer, and director. It seemed like they were playing it as it came along. After about an hour I had to shut it down. Sorry, but life's too short to sit through boring movies.

This is a beautiful gem of a movie. The brilliant actress Shirley Knight creates a memorable character, and gives a lesson in how an understated performance can prove powerful on the screen. Every one of her moves and facial expressions have resonance and truthfulness. She and Tom Skerrit play beautifully together in one part of the movie. They are both on the same page, in terms of their performance. Not for everybody, but for those who enjoy engaging character studies, this film is a must.
