Paul Harris is a spoiled rich kid who has never had to work for anything. Rob Tully is a born fighter who trains daily with his father and Uncle Tommy, believing that his gift can change all their lives for the better. When two men step into the ring of an underground fight club, only one will walk out. Set in the world of illegal bare-knuckle boxing, The Fighter pulls no punches in its depiction of lives lived in desperation. Written with the power and originality of his debut, Rust and Bone, The Fighter secures Davidson's reputation as a talent to watch.

I read this book three times, and I really do love the story. The two main characters are very interesting. Paul Harris who doesn't mind being hurt, while Rob Tully who has the gift of boxing in him but hates the idea of hurting someone in the ring. The relationship they have with their families and the women in their lives was written very well by Davidson. And the detail of the fight that these two will have later in the book, was one of the main reasons why I was looking forward to reading it, was proved to be worth it. I give it an A+ even though there is some scenes that makes you want to throw the book at the wall, or would make you want ot know what's going to happen next.
