A Binchy fan and I read each one but agree with others that after a while short stories leave me wanting.

I really like Binchy's writing but my goodness this collection of stories does present some very sad young ladies. One is inclined to think of Ireland as being chuck full of jolly folk but such is not the case here. My pet peeve with the U.S. publishers is their crusade of translating U.K. English to U.S. American. Why can not they print the work of a U.K. writer in the language she uses? Deleting the"m" from "whom" and the "u" from "colour" is really so juvenile. Just my humble opinion.

Very fast and easy read. Her same themes, again and again: bad friends, good friends, bad spouses, good spouses, people in extramarital affairs. Boring.

I'm so glad I didn't know this was a book of short stories since I've decided I didn't like short stories. These stories are filled with all I like about Binchey's writing. They are witty stories filled with common sense that provide the same sense of satisfaction of her longer stories.

Maeve is my favourite author I have read all her other books. This one was a good collection of short stories but I prefer a novel that you can get your teeth into.

I got through three stories but it was so frustrating. The story was good but ended too soon. I would have liked to see more of what happened.

Thoroughly enjoyable. Great for those times when you want a good read but don't have the time to commit to a novel.

It took me a bit to get through this book but I took a break then easily finished it. It is what you would expect from Maeve Binchy. I, of course, liked the length of the short stories. It makes reading the book manageable. It was exactly as I expected.

Totally Maeve! What a joy to discover more of her stories that had been published here and there earlier on in her career. Some are very short - others a bit longer.
