This is a great CD. I really enjoyed some of the topics and the style. Two songs I really like are "Mom" and "I Won't Let You Down." Her less pop-style songs are the ones best found on this album. I really like the use of romance songs in here as she's very good at bringing back doo-wop sounds in a refreshing way.

However, some songs are put-downs. The song "Friends" is a copy for "No Woman, No Cry" and some of the rap for "You Deserve Better" is terrible. Besides these faults, this album is fantastic. It's sure not to disappoint fans of her previous album even though some of the styling is different.

Entire album available at freegal for download now. From a first listen, tunes were markedly less catchy than her super debut album "Title 2014." Its most popular hit "No," and others are on youtube now, see videos.

For her sophomore album Thank You, Meghan Trainor mostly discards her doo-wop sound in exchange for something equally retro and amazing: pop music of the late 90s and the early aughts. One of the first things I love about Thank You is how positive many of the tracks are, with power ballads and dance anthems that bring a nice variety to the album as a whole. Trainor shines as a vocalist while demonstrating her penchant for writing witty and catchy lyrics that will get stuck in your head. Overall, Thank You is uplifting, fun, youthful, and demonstrates that Trainor continues to deliver exceptional music while managing to reinvent her sound for contemporary pop audiences. I will have this one on my workout rotation for some time.
