Book #2 in this series, and Sierra's story was compelling, hard to put down.

I began Any Day Now rather conflicted. I kept putting off reading it because I found the cover picture so off-putting. I hate the cover. It's ugly and, now that I've read the book, I see that it is in no way reflective of the story at all. A first impression, in this case the ugly cover, usually colors an opinion that follows. That's as true with books as it is with people. I struggled through the first few chapters because, while I knew I read What We Find, Sullivan's Crossing #1, I could not remember one single thing about it. The author finally reminded me after a bit of stubborn reading persistence on my part.

Once I forced myself to get past those two things, I DID enjoy Any Day Now. I recommend you give yourself that opportunity.

4 stars, solid mid B grade.

There is a new Sullivan's Crossing Book, #3, The Family Gathering coming out April 17, 2018 and I fully intend to read it.

For Sierra Jones, Sullivan's Crossing is a way to start a new life after a very troubled past. Not only is she running away from trouble that she know she is innocent but the guy responsible for that trouble. Being close to her brother, Cal, and his bride Maggie, she feels that will be the best way to recharge herself. When she stays in a cabin at a local campground, she finds herself surrounded by the owner Sully and Molly, a dog she rescued, and she feels like she is finally at home. Add in a special guy named Conrad who shows her what love really can be like. When her past begins to catch up with her, she can only hope that she will not chase away her only chance at happiness. Loved reading this story and how strong people can be when they really need strength.

I really enjoyed this book! I had read the first book in the series, "What We Find" and was looking forward to the second book. I'm sure there will be a book following these two.
