A 2018-2019 Missouri Mark Twain Readers Award preliminary nominee (grades 4-6).

Georgia girl Nolie Stanhope isn't looking forward to spending her summer on a remote village in Scotland until she learns about the mysterious fog that draws tourists and scientists like her dad to the town. She befriends Bel and a strange boy, and they try to learn more about the fog.

This has a lot of what I love about good middle-grade fiction--strong friendships and a touch of magic and mystery. Lightly spooky.
