In James Patterson's shockingly suspenseful #1 New York Times bestseller , one member of the Women's Murder Club is hiding a secret so dangerous that it could destroy them all. One of James Patterson's best loved heroines is about to die. Detective Lindsay Boxer is jogging along a beautiful San Francisco street when a fiery explosion rips through the neighborhood. When Lindsay plunges inside to search for survivors, she finds three people dead. A lost infant and a mysterious message at the scene leaves Lindsay and the San Francisco Police Department completely baffled. Then a prominent businessman is found murdered under bizarre circumstances, with another mysterious message left behind by the killer. Lindsay asks her friends Claire Washburn of the medical examiner's office, Assistant D.A. Jill Bernhardt, and Chronicle reporter Cindy Thomas to help her figure out who is committing these murders-and why they are intent on killing someone every three days. Even more terrifying, the killer has targeted one of the four friends who call themselves the Women's Murder Club. Which one will it be?
While jogging Detective Lindsay Boxer witnesses a townhouse blow up. There are three people dead and a missing infant. There is a note stating that others will die and it is signed August Spies. The FBI and Homeland Security get involved when others are murdered. Lindsay works closely with FBI Deputy Director, Joe Molinari and realizes that there are sparks between them. But every three days the letter states others will die. The race is on to find out who the people are doing the killings. This is a very good book. Looking forward to the next book in this series.
I really liked this detective novel! I've never read James Patterson before, but I'm sure I will in the future. I thought the characters were presented with good balance and depth. The plot rocketed along - gripping the whole way. It is a much better than average police procedural. Strongly recommend it.
This book had too much drama for me, which unfortunately took away from the whole detective/thrill part of the plot. Not a bad book, just not really the Patterson I'm used to

so far the best women murders club book, from the beginning to to the end its intresting and so good its impossible to put the book down
Despite my strong dislike of co-authored books, this is a gripping tale. Both go to a very deep, dark place with the killing off of a major character. Good gripping thriller.
