This has gorgeous intricate illustrations made out of plant collages, plus beautifully written words, all about nature through the seasons. I love it!
Every time I look, I see more beauty. Just wow.
The illustrations are all meticulously created, using plants that she has pressed. The artist in everyone will cause you to pause and visually drink up each page. The story line around the changing seasons is guaranteed to reveal unknown facts to the reader.
Drawn from Nature by Helen Ahpornsiri is a winner from cover to cover! Ms. Ahpornsiri illustrates this book with flora and foliage throughout, an artistic process that I had not considered until coming across this book. And, as if the art wasn't enough to check it out, it is also very well written. A book not only perfect for all four seasons, but old and young alike!
Amazing illustrations of nature crafted entirely with plants!
Leaves petals, seeds and grasses are the medium of this awe inspiring and yet simple book about the behaviors of familiar animals.
Informative and beautiful! Every piece of art is constructed as a collage of hand-pressed flowers, which I didn't realize until after I picked this up. The artwork reminds me of a coloring book, but when you look beyond the first glance, you realize this is a painstaking labor of love that shows how much the author appreciates the beauty in the world around her, in every season.
