A modern feminist coming of age story about a girl who is passionate about changing the school, one sex talk at a time. Full of totally embarrassing, laugh out loud moments, I would love to hand this to every teen at the library!

Is it too late to time-travel and hand this book to high school freshman me? She would have loved it. (Even though she still wouldn't have actually taken action, knowledge is power.)

There is frank, accurate discussion of sex and sexuality in this book, not surprisingly. There is also a wonderful celebration of bodily autonomy, parental embarrassment (no matter how supportive they are, parents are never not embarrassing), asexuality validation, and a whole lot of heart.

Pairs well with Property of the Rebel Librarian (for younger readers who want to rebel against the rules but aren't interested in sex talk yet) and Jack of Hearts (And Other Parts) (for readers wishing the main character was a little more adventurous instead of virginal). Hand to readers who might be a little embarrassed to read a traditional sex-ed book as well as teens looking for a feminist romance.
