Invoking the construct of time as the basis for any plot invariably results in treading on quicksand, made even more treacherous by deploying a conceit such as 'inverted' time. Physical events can't willy-nilly be expunged from their registry in the history of the universe, even by the agency of entropic disintegration, nor by prodigeous Hollywood fireworks and fulminations of the virulently menacing sociopath orchestrating the apocalypse. Tenet comes across as mildly entertaining flim-flam.

When I hear people say it's just like Inception, what they really mean is that the subject matter made their brain hurt, just like Inception. It really isn't like Inception, except that it requires the viewer to track multiple threads which happen simultaneously in movie-time, but aren't presented in an order that makes sense until they're all tied together by the end. That's where the similarity ends. What it did remind me of was Predestination with Ethan Hawk, which I also recommend to anyone who enjoys the pain of trying to wrap their head around time travel, multiverses, and paradox.

Past and future converge on the present. Other than that hard to follow. I don't like giving up on movies so after four days I finished it. Not one of Kenneth Brannagh's proudest moments.
One star.

Tedious, convoluted, simply doesn't make sense.
Had to fast forward to get through it!
The "Protagonist" (John David Washington) has a hard act to follow with Denzel Washington being his father in real life. But there's only so much you can do with a really bad movie.

If you enjoyed Inception, you'll love it.

It's clever. More clever than many and yet not as much as Nolan's previous movies. Convoluted without being equally as interesting or gratifying in understanding it. Still liked it even with it's hype that is didn't quite live up to. Manage your own expectations and you'll enjoy it for the wild spy romp it is.

Is this simply a set-up for a gaming franchise? It sure isn't anything I would want to see again. Seems to be a Roadrunner/Coyote take-off. And most cartoons are short - how many chase scenes and blow-ups before boredom sets in?

Blu-Ray quality is top-notch. John Washington is superb in this suspenseful and fast-paced brain-teaser. There are so many intricate detailed variables in this film. You must closely monitor (re-watch) every scene, dialog, and recollections of each character for maximum plot comprehension. I liked the sound mixing.

As per the reviews on Netflix...most people can’t figure out this movie. It definitely REQUIRES your concentration. By the time Tenent sees himself in both time frames @ the heist if you haven’t figured it out then it will be incomprehensible. 4 stars only for the poor audio.

It's like watching an action movie that has dementia.
