I liked this book. It is the basis for a lot of the Road to Avonlea episodes. It has some minor characters from other books in it or mentions them. Anne comes up quite a bit. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice light read or who wants to pick up some short stories. It's typical Lucy Maud Montgomery.

From the author of "Anne of Green Gables" is this anthology of short stories focuses on some of the other residents of Avonlea (fans of Anne Shirley may be disappointed, as she only appears briefly in one of them).
Montgomery is a good writer, though sometimes a bit too sentimental. She's a big fan of lovers that were divided years ago after a silly argument, or people being visited by a loved one on their death bed, or couples struggling to be together after a family member has forbidden their union. There's even a ghost at one point!
