War and Remembrance
War and Remembrance A Novel By Wouk, Herman Book - 1978 | 1st trade ed

The author manages the difficult feat of weaving in a fictional family with historical events and characters and providing them with meaningful roles without affecting the outcome of the historical event. The historical people and events are well researched and come to life in fiction perhaps better than in non-fiction. Although we know the result of the historical events, the author manages to engage our attention and interest.

I do wish the author would have taken some more time to flesh out the ending - is seems so rushed and the concept would seem very promising to expand so that the readers would better understand the state of post war Europe.
